Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy joins the Lion King prequel

Beyonce and Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy has joined the voice cast of the Lion King prequel, voicing as Kiara daughter of King Simba and Queen Nala.

The Lion King film features the voices of Beyonce as Queen Nala, Donald Glover as Simba and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar.

The new film, directed by Moonlight filmmaker Barry Jenkins, will explore Mufasa’s origin story and his childhood with brother Scar, combining live-action filmmaking techniques with photo real computer-generated imagery.

The movie will feature original songs by Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, who has also penned songs for films including Mary Poppins Returns and Encanto.

This will be Blue Ivy’s first film role at 12 years old, she also took stage to perform a dance routine during her mother’s live tour.

Blue Ivy is eldest daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s kids.

The Lion King is set to be released in December this year.
