After the aviation authorities in Nigeria announced their project of renaming 15 airports after prominent Nigerians as well as presidents, the Minna International Airport has been renamed after President Bola Tinubu.
A good number of citizens have criticized the renaming, terming it as a vanity project. However, the government spokesman, defended the states action saying the international airport has been named to acknowledge president Tinubu’s contribution in the regions development.
President Tinubu led the inauguration of the remodeled airport which had previously been named after a journalist Abubakar Imam who pioneered the first Hausa language newspaper in that region.
