Two dead after a midair plane collision in Nairobi

Police reports have confirmed that two people have died after two planes collided midair above the Nairobi national park on Tuesday.

The collision involved a Dash 8 operated by safarilink Aviation airline and a single engine Cessna 172 carrying two people who are said to have been in a learning session.

According to reports by the airline, the Dash 8 plane had 44 passengers on board inclusive of five crew members and was heading to Diani when a loud bang was reported after their take off from Wilson airport.

The 44 passengers from the larger plane were able to escape unhurt from the tragic event.
