Nairobi governor Johnson sakaja has denied claims that he was asked to step down from the UDA party chairperson elections in Nairobi.
Speaking during an interview on Thursday, Sakaja affirmed that he is still in the race despite the intimidating reports to pull him down.
“I’m not a leader who succumbs to pressure. If there was pressure I would not have been governor of Nairobi and I don’t know where they assume it is coming from…. I have heard the rumors. There’s no such thing. What I have said as a leader in this city I want a united party and well make sure that we have a united party and everyone in Nairobi should come so that we can create a strong party,” sakaja said
During the announcement of his intention to vie for the UDA chair position in Nairobi the UDA members of the county assembly (MCA) present assured him of their support in the elections.
The UDA grassroots elections will be happening from April 26 to August 24 this year.
