President William Ruto has officially opened the Ultra-modern Bunge Towers on Thursday morning.
Ruto was accompanied by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Defence CS Aden Duale, National Assembly and Senate Speakers Moses Wetang'ula and Amason Kingi and a few members of parliament and senators.
Bunge Tower was initiated by the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) in 2010 to provide sufficient office space for the MPs, designed with 320 offices but the coming in of the Senate after the adoption of the new constitution included the senators.
Initially the 9.6 billion Bunge towers was to be launched on April 19 but was postponed due to the devastating news of the death of General Francis Ogolla the Chief of defense forces.
The building includes amenities such as the gym, a beauty parlor and a restaurant for the legislators.
According to speaker Amason Kingi, the facility will help save Ksh.400 million annually that would have gone to rent facilities during parliamentary meetings.
