President William Ruto has engaged talks with officials from the Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) following recent developments in the healthcare sector.
Today’s meeting between president Ruto and the representatives from the medical union comes on the heels of a significant agreement reached between the union and the government to bring an end to the recent healthcare workers strike.
According to statement released by press secretary Emmanual Talam, discussions during the meeting centered on addressing critical issues related to human resources for health, this includes strategies aimed at bolstering healthcare workforce capacity which is essential for the successful implementation of Universal Coverage Healthcare Coverage (UHC).
