OCS arrested over selling a detained car in Karen

OCS Purity Kobia was arrested on Friday by the internal affairs unit IAU detectives at Capitol Hill police station for allegedly selling a vehicle that had been detained at the station.

A complaint was filed against the station commander over release of the Mazda Demio from her station. The director of public prosecutions has now approved her arrest.

“the vehicle, a Mazda Demio registration number KCR 526R had been detained at the station after it was involved in an accident in 0ctober 2021 but was released illegally and sold in 2023 through a public auction and without following due process,” the ODPP stated

The officer has been charged with conspiracy to commit felony contrary to section 393 of the penal code and abuse of office contrary to section 101(1) of the penal code.

Siama Rahma who is the owner of the motor vehicle said that she noticed his car missing at the station after failed attempts to retrieve it. She later claims to have spotted the car being driven by an officer and decided to report the matter.
