NTSA issues directives on school transport as children break for the April holiday

As students break for the April holiday, the national transport and safety authority (NTSA) has issued conditions on school transport services for the safety of learners on the roads.

 In a statement released on X (twitter) the NTSA outlined key conditions that the school transport must adhere to before taking students back home.

“As our children head home for the holidays, remember, school transport like all public service vehicles, must have a valid Road Service License, the driver must have the requisite driver’s license class endorsement and a valid PSV badge,” the statement read

He also urged the institutions to adhere to the traffic rules and regulations to ensure children get home safely.

This directives come in the recent cases of road accidents that have involved school buses injuring and killing students.
