New England bank notes to be introduced with King Charles image

In a meeting including the governor of the bank of England, Andrew Bailey, King Charles was presented with the first of the new banknotes which will show his portrait.

This will be the first time that the bank of England is going to change the monarch on the banknotes, since the first monarch to have her portrait on bank notes was Queen Elizabeth 2.

King Charles acknowledged the notes terming them as very elegant. In the new notes unlike his mothers, King Charles doesn’t have his crown on.

The new notes are to be launched on June 5 2024. However, the bank of England has explained that it will take a while before the public notices its circulation.

There will be a gradual introduction for the King Charles banknotes, with the current Queen Elizabeth notes being used until they become worn or damaged.
