Nairobi Immigration Office to Open on Saturday for Passport Collection

In response to the prolonged challenges faced by passport applicants in Nairobi, the State Department of Immigration and Citizen Services has announced that the Immigration offices at Nyayo House will be operational this Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 9 am to 1 pm for passport collection.

The Immigration Department emphasized the need to streamline passport issuance procedures, acknowledging the National Assembly's Committee on National Administration and Internal Security's recent advocacy for new passport applications to be processed within a three-day timeframe.

"To expedite the collection of passports, our Nairobi office will be open on Saturday May 18, 2024 from 9am to 1pm," said the Department in a notice.

The decision aims to expedite the process for Kenyans who have applied for passports and received notifications to collect their documents. This initiative comes amidst persistent difficulties experienced by applicants over the past three years.

The move underscores the government's commitment to improving service delivery and enhancing efficiency in passport processing. It is expected to alleviate the burden on applicants and provide much-needed relief to those awaiting their travel documents.
