Russian authorities’ confirm 60 deaths in the Crocus city hall terror attack in Moscow

The ISIS-Kho saran terror group commonly known as ISIS-K has claimed that it was responsible for the attack in Moscow, that lead to the death of at least 60 people and more than 145 injured.

Reports by the state-run RIA Novosti say that individuals opened fire with automatic weapons and threw an incendiary bomb which started a fire. They later fled in a white Renault car.

The video footage shared from inside the crocus city hall concert venue show panicked crowd huddling together screaming and hiding behind seats as gunshots started echoing in the hall.

Putin on Saturday wished a quick recovery for the victims and thanked the doctors who assisted in the incident.

Previously, the United States embassy had warned Russia of a potential attack from the extremists, targeting large gatherings and even went ahead to warn its citizens in Russia to avoid being in large gatherings.

However Putin disregarded the warnings, claiming that the US was provoking Russia and it was away to “blackmail with intentions to destabilize” Russia.

The UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres condemned the attack, with the UN Security Council terming it as a heinous and cowardly terrorist attack.
