lorry Carrying Over 10 people Swept Away by Flooded River at Kilome Subcounty

A lorry carrying ten people and sand has been swept by floods at the Muatine River at Sultan Hamud, Kilome Sub County, in Makueni County.

In a footage shared online, a group of people are seen sitting on the back of the lorry as others board it to journey with them. Two youthful men are seen flanking both sides of the lorry's back, guiding the driver. 

The driver appears in control of the vehicle as he maneuvers the flooded water easily but after about thirty meters into the stretch, the driver appears to be losing control of the vehicle. 

The group of people aboard the lorry included women, children and males.According to reports by some witnesses only four people were rescued.

The National Police Service has also sent a chopper to the ground to help with the rescue mission.
