Kenyatta University Vice Chancellor visits survivors of the grisly road accident that killed 11 students.

In company of other official from the institution, the Kenyatta university vice chancellor has on Tuesday morning paid a visit to the survivors of the accident that happened along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.

The Kenyatta university bus was carrying public health students who were heading to Mombasa for an academic trip when the accident occurred. According to reports by the county police commander, 10 students died on the spot while one died in hospital.

“The accident occurred at a time when it was raining heavily. The lorry tried to move away from the road to avoid head on collision leading to the accident,” the commissioner stated.

The school bus had a total of 58 passengers, where 42 sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Moi county Referral Hospital in Voi Taita Taveta. Four students obtained slight injuries.
