Kenya Revenue Authority Extends Working Hours to Aid Tax Return Filing

In a bid to accommodate the influx of taxpayers filing their returns, the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced an extension of working hours from June 3 to June 30.

This move aims to streamline the tax filing process and ensure compliance with the deadline of June 30.

At the Tax Service Offices across the country, operational hours will be extended from 7 am to 7 pm on weekdays. Additionally, on Saturdays, offices will be open from 9 am to 1 pm, with closures on Sundays. Notably, on June 29 and 30, the offices will maintain a schedule from 9 am to 6 pm to cater to last-minute filers.

For select locations, including the GPO HC, City Square HC, Kibra HC, Makadara HC, and Eastleigh HC in the Nairobi region, services will be available at Huduma Centres. These centres will operate from 7 am to 7 pm on weekdays, with closures during the weekend.

The extension of working hours underscores KRA's commitment to facilitating a smooth tax return filing process for citizens and businesses alike. Taxpayers are urged to take advantage of these extended hours to fulfill their obligations before the June 30 deadline.
