The Kenya National Highways Authority announced temporary closure of section of the Uhuru Highway to enable construction of a pedestrian tunnel connecting the university of Nairobi main campus and the Chiromo campus.
The affected areas will be between Hotel Boulevard and the University of Nairobi roundabout. The closure was in effect on Thursday 11.59 pm and will continue until Saturday April 6 2024.
“ the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that there will be a temporary closure of Uhuru Highway (A8) between Hotel Boulevard and the University of Nairobi roundabout (Mombasa bound) from 11.59 p.m. on Thursday, to 11.59 p.m. on Saturday April 6,2024,” KeNHA stated
KeNHA recommended alternative routes for motorists during this period. The available alternatives are the university way, Harry Thuku road, Prof.wangari Mathai road and Kipande road
