Government report confirms at least 229 people claimed by floods

Government reports have confirmed that so far the ongoing floods across the country have claimed at least 229 people with one dying in the last 24 hours.

Speaking on Monday, the Interior cabinet secretary Kithure Kindiki said that at least 75 people are currently missing and 46,937 households have been displaced summing up the floods victims to234,685 people.

CS Kindiki further confirmed that a total of 167 camps have been set up across 22 Counties hosting 70,451 people.

Earlier on the ministry of education pushed the opening dates for schools due to the flood crisis in the country and according to the CS Kindiki, approximately 1,967 schools have already been affected by the floods.
