Five more suspects summoned in Mwangi wa Iria’s Sh 140 million graft case

Five more suspects have been summoned by the Milimani Anti-corruption court over Sh 140 million corruption case involving former Murang’a county governor Mwangi wa Iria and his wife.

The court magistrate Zipporah Gichana issued the summons on Tuesday requiring the suspects to appear in court on 29th April 2024 to take plea.

"The court issues summons for the second, third, fourth, fifth, eighth, ninth and tenth accused persons to appear in court to take plea," the magistrate said.

Therefore other than Mwangi wa Iria, his wife Jane Kimani and the wife’s brother Solomon Kimani, the five Patrick Kagumo Mukuria, Jane Wanjiru Mbuthia, David Maina Kiama, David Maina Njeri, Peter Muturi Karanja and two companies; Top Image Media Consultants and Value View Limited are now part of the probe.

Mwangi wa Iria’s wife and her brother Solomon were arrested on Wednesday last week and arraigned at Milimani court in connection with the millions scheme.
