A group of bandits attacked the Kaben village in Elgeyo Makwet where CDF Francis Ogolla died in a chopper crash amid investigations for the cause of the crash.
According to police reports the group, believed to be from Pokot raided the area with the aim of stealing cattle but they were not able to as the police were around and the bandits had vanished into the bushes.
The attempted raid took place despite the fact that there are officers securing the area where KDF officer’s plane crashed killing 10 together with the chief of Defense forces General Francis Ogolla on Thursday afternoon.
The Elgeyo Makwet county Governor Wisley Rotich expressed his sadness over the raid saying the bandits were disrespectful considering the events that took place in the area killing military officers.
